June 2026 Code User Group

Thanks to everyone who came along to this month's code-fi session. As promised, here's a quick summary of what we covered.

We worked through a tour of hidden high-paying careers — the kind of well-paid roles that are often not on your radar. Across the session we looked at 18 of them, spanning everything from inter-dealer brokers, air traffic controllers and actuaries to harbour pilots, smart-contract auditors, quant researchers, patent attorneys and FIFO mining specialists (AUS only!).

For each role we looked at what the job actually involves, what experienced people in it really earn (top-end figures, not entry-level or medians), how you get into it, and — usefully — where you'd actually find these people, whether that's a professional register, a licensing body or a membership directory.

We kept it relevant to both sides of the room, with separate figures for the US/UK and for Australia, plus a side-by-side comparison of everything at the end. I also covered a couple of slides on the surprising end of sports pay for good measure.
